The Marian J. Wettrick Charitable Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 year. 

 

Basic criteria:

• Female student
• Graduate from a Pennsylvania college giving a recognized pre-medical degree (any baccalaureate degree earned)
• Financial need
• Demonstrated record of well-rounded participation in many facets of school life
• Indicated inclination (non-binding) to practice medicine at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital [UPMC Cole] in Coudersport, PA (note: response to this question, whether affirmative or negative, will not determine the recipient)

 

The amount of the award will vary based on the number of applicants and how many recipients they select.  In the past few years, this has been around $10,000.

 

Please submit the attached application with an official transcript (see below link for instructions) and 4 copies of each of these (application and transcript) to me in MERB 325 or via email by Monday, March 24th.   

Although the application says by March 31st, we must have it postmarked by then, so the earlier date of March 24th is being set.

Please note – there are two applications.  If you are a first time applicant or would be a first time recipient, please fill out the one titled with Current Year.  If you were a recipient during the 2024-2025 year and are reapplying, please fill out the Renewal Year application.
