Tech Bits: Add a Profile Photo to Your Online Presence

Now that we are studying and working remotely, getting to know one another has become a bit of a challenge. Consider adding a profile photo to your Temple apps to help people learn more about you:

Add a Profile Photo to Zoom

  1. Go to zoom.temple.edu. Then click Sign In and log in with your AccessNet username and password.
  2. On the left navigation pane, click Profile.9
  3. Under the icon of a person on the left next to your name, click Change.
  4. Click Upload. Select a photo from your computer, crop/enlarge it if necessary by pulling on the corners, then click Save. Note that square images without a transparent background work best.
  5. To remove the photo, follow steps 1 to 2 above. Then click Delete, then Yes to confirm you want to delete your profile picture.

Add a Profile Photo to Canvas

  1. Go to canvas.temple.edu and log in using your AccessNet username and password.
  2. Click Account in the panel on the left, then click Profile.
  3. Hover over the circle with an icon of a person and click the pencil icon that appears.
  4. Upload a Picture from your computer, crop it if necessary, or Take a Picture with your webcam.
  5. Click Save.

To remove the photo:

  1. Click Account on the panel on the left.
  2. Click Files.
  3. Click My Files to expand the folder then click profile pictures. Note if your My Files folder is already expanded just click the profile pictures subfolder.
  4. Hover over the details of the profile picture you would like to delete, then click the three vertical dots that appear to the right, then click Delete.

Add a Profile Photo to VoiceThread
Note, once you add a photo to an identity, you can change but not delete it.

  1. Go to canvas.temple.edu and log in using your AccessNet username and password.
  2. Click the VoiceThread link in your Canvas course navigation.
  3. Click the circle on the upper-right corner of the page and select My Identities.
  4. Hover over the picture square and select the pencil icon to edit.
  5. Upload a photo from your computer or take a photo with your webcam.
  6. Click Save.

Add a Profile Photo to Microsoft 365 apps

  1. Go to portal.office.com and sign-in using your @temple email address.
  2. On the upper-right corner, click the circle that displays your initials or an icon of a person.
  3. A small box will appear underneath showing your initials or an icon of a person in a circle, along with your information and a few account options. Hover over the circle, then click the camera icon that appears.
  4. Click Upload a New Photo, select a photo and select Open. Drag the photo to the left or right, so it appears as you like it. Then click Apply and then Done.

To remove the photo, go to portal.office.com/account and sign in. Click Personal info on the left navigation bar, then click Change photo on the profile photo on the top of the screen. Finally, click the small 'x' in the top right portion of the Change Photo window and click Save.
